Jun. 21--Voters in the Mt. Diablo school district would support a school construction bond but not a parcel tax, according to a new poll.
Nearly 60 percent of 623 registered voters surveyed said they would vote for a bond, which requires 55 percent approval. The same percentage of voters favored a parcel tax, but that amount falls well below the two-thirds majority needed to win.
Despite those results, at least three Mt. Diablo school board members said they supported the idea of placing a parcel tax before voters to raise more money for schools. Trustee Paul Strange suggested Tuesday that the district should aim for the ...
