BOSTON, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT) announces the election of Robert S. Barron and Francois Pesret as Officers of the Corporation. The elections were made by the Board of Directors at its meeting February 10.

Barron is General Manager of Cabot Performance Materials (CPM), headquartered in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. CPM is a world leader in the manufacture of tantalum and niobium products for the electronics, medical, defense, and chemical processing industries. Prior to joining Cabot in 1991, Barron held positions with W. Atlee Burpee, McKinsey & Co. and Union Carbide.
