Richmond first baseman Graham Koonce swung with the vengeance of 10 days' worth of frustration in his bat Wednesday night, and when he connected, it was the Syracuse Chiefs who ended up paying for lost time.
Koonce's mammoth grand slam in the top of the fifth swung the game Richmond's way and pushed the Braves to a doubleheader sweep with an 8-4 win in the nightcap at Alliance Bank Stadium.
Koonce came into the game leading the Braves with eight homers, but he hadn't connected for one since June 10. That drought ended when he slammed a high fastball from Chiefs reliever Ryan Houston (1-2) well over the fence behind the picnic ...
