HELSINKI, Finland, Jun. 20, 2007 (IPS/GIN) -- An international coalition of trade unions and nongovernmental organizations has accused the International Olympic Committee of allowing child labor to be used in the production of merchandise for the upcoming Beijing Olympics.

In a report released last week, Play Fair 2008 accused the committee that organizes the games of condoning -- through its complicit silence -- widespread violations of fundamental labor standards in factories producing goods under the committee's license.
