From the moment he square cut James Kirtley for four, Jonathan Trott has appeared destined for international duty.
That cut - his first scoring shot for Warwickshire - prefaced a century on debut and gave notice that the club had secured a batsman of some talent. There have been some ups and downs along the way - indeed, it is only three List A games since he was dropped by Warwickshire - but Trott has slowly added the temperament to the talent and there is no reason why he should not be on the brink of a successful international career.
