Jun. 23--When the Eighth Annual Rubber Duck Race comes to Dean Porter Park today, Brownsville residents will have the chance to adopt a rubber duck for a day and support a worthy cause.
The event is sponsored by the Infant and Family Nutrition Agency, a United Way-funded organization that provides information and education on prenatal care, breastfeeding and family nutrition to communities in lower Cameron County.
With more than 1,000 weighted rubber racing ducks available for adoption, agency officials say they are well prepared for the event.
