Jun. 23--Tyco Electronics will close its Exeter Township plant in March and lay off 145 workers, a company official confirmed Friday.
Tyco's move is the latest of several plant closings in Berks County. Since December, hundreds of job cuts have been announced.
The plant, formerly known as Hub Fabricating Inc., makes cabinetry for electronics for companies such as Alcatel-Lucent.
The jobs at the Exeter plant will be transferred to Juarez, Mexico, as part of a company consolidation, said Mike Ratcliff, manager of communications at Tyco.
