Jun. 24--For the second time in four days, Giants Manager Bruce Bochy fought the law. And the law won. In baseball, the law always has a big thumb. Bochy, desperate to end an eight-game losing streak, was tossed from Saturday's game against the New York Yankees for arguing an out call at first base against Ray Durham.
"The ump said what they always say," Bochy said of the sixth-inning incident. "They said they got it right. I disagreed. That was it."
Happily enough, the Giants still won the game, 6-5 in 13 innings. And since the Giants were behind 4-1 at the time of Bochy's ejection, it's possible his theatrics played a part ...
