Newspaper's printing plant struck by blaze.(Local)

MECHANICSVILLE

Fire struck the Richmond Times-Dispatch printing plant in Hanover County on Saturday as today's edition was being printed.

The fire started shortly after noon, apparently in a folder on one of the newspaper's three presses. The unit was printing classified ads for today's newspaper at the time, said Frazier Millner, a company spokeswoman.

Two firefighters suffered heat injuries, with one treated at the scene and the other in stable condition at a hospital, Millner said. No Times-Dispatch employees were hurt. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
