LAS VEGAS--Children's boots topped fall '95 buying lists at last week's Western Shoe Associates show, here, as further evidence prevailed that dress shoes are losing ground to the functional school shoe category at the retail level. And as function continues to become fashion, the typically European knack for style-injected practicality is also gaining momentum.
Details such as Austrian-type ribbon, a rounded toe box, gold hardware and color-blocking gave some U.S.-based manufacturers what they termed "European looks" for kids.
