THINKING OF THE HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Notebook PC as just an oversize desktop-replacement laptop would be missing the point. It's closer to an entertainment hub for your home.
The HDX will be on sale in July, priced at $2,999 for the base model and an estimated $4,250 in the configuration we tested. The 16-pound notebook employs the Pavilion line's attractive glossy black case. A clever hinge mechanism for the 20.1-inch, 1,680x1,050-resolution screen lets you move it fore and aft a few inches and also tilt the screen up and down to get just the right viewing position.
