A proposed product pipeline extension in California would substantially change the distribution logistics of the West Coast, giving San Francisco refineries a significantly wider market for their products.
Most of the seven San Francisco refiners reportedly are seeking other markets to distribute conventional gasoline outside California and Phase II reformulated gasoline within the state after the regulations go into effect in March 1996.
Responding to this expressed need, Santa Fe Pacific Pipeline Partners LP announced plans to build a product pipeline link between northern and Southern California, something the state has never had before.
