Jun. 26--After weeks of debate, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors is set to vote today on a proposed law banning water-skiing, tubing and wakeboarding during the summer months along a stretch of the Delta near Discovery Bay.
The ordinance would prohibit water-skiing and any other activities in which a person is being towed behind a boat along three miles of the Indian Slough and a portion of Werner Dredger Cut.
"I think it will be a step toward addressing the safety concerns I have," said Supervisor Mary Piepho, who represents portions of East County. "I believe in safety, and I believe this will help."
