Determination on the part of state Gazprom to get top prices for Russian gas--whether it be from Europe or China--is the bedrock that underpins a series of policy pronouncements flowing out of Moscow over the last week on subjects ranging from the long-awaited unified gas development plan for East Siberia and Russia's Far East to the Barents Sea Shtokman field.
Of perhaps greatest significance is Gazprom's integrated production and development plan for East Siberia through 2030, which has now been approved by Russia's Governmental Commission on Fuel and Energy, chaired by Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov.
