Jun. 27--Bangkok Airways has taken delivery of the first of seven brand-new Airbus 319s that will support its strategy to offer medium-range flights.
The other six airplanes were acquired through an operating lease deal with the International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), the world's largest commercial leasing firm.
They will join the privately owned carrier's fleet sometime between next year and 2009.
The first A319, flown from Hamburg by Bangkok Airways senior executive vice-president Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, has 144 seats all in the same class.
