Jun. 27--A deal to locate a new downtown library on property currently owned by Kokomo-Center Schools could include a land swap with the library board, KCS board president Joe Dunbar said Tuesday.
Monday, library board members voted to enter into formal talks with the school board for property to the north of Central Middle School which now contains about 130 parking spaces.
Library board president Susan Luttrell and KCS Superintendent Thomas Little both praised the site as ideal for a new library, with Luttrell saying the location will save taxpayer dollars and Little saying school kids will be able to walk across the street ...
