Jun. 28--AMMAN -- Midyear results of public shareholding companies may reverse the downward trend of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE), whose index, dropped to 5,759 points on Tuesday continuing a decline from the beginning of this week.

Jawad Kharouf, president of the Association of Certified Capital Market Professionals, attributed the slide in the stock exchange over the past few days to investors selling shares to reduce outstanding dues or to close accounts before the end of the month, noting that investors are awaiting the companies' midyear results.
