Jun. 28--KINGS MOUNTAIN -- About a quarter of downtown Kings Mountain is vacant, according to Mountaineer Partnership Executive Director Caroline Dover. But she said that's changing soon as the area is experiencing an "explosion of growth."
Cleveland Chamber Kings Mountain Office Director Shirley Brutko said she's seen a lot of small businesses looking at locating in the city because of the new industries that've announced they're coming.
"We're like the last direction anywhere close to Charlotte that's not totally developed," Ms. Brutko said. "More people are purchasing buildings here and starting small businesses."
