Jun. 29--Eagle Picher Co. said Wednesday its Oklahoma subsidiary Eagle Picher Boron LLC is being sold to manufacturer Ceradyne Inc. for $69 million.

Publicly held Ceradyne intends to keep the 100 employees and management team that run the Quapaw chemical plant, which produces boron isotopes used in nuclear waste containment and semiconductor manufacturing, said Ceradyne chief financial officer Jerrold Pellizzon.

"We intend to make investments to grow the business," Pellizzon said.

"We think there's opportunities out there to expand the business."
