Jun. 28--A ring of people holding flags surrounded the steps of Immaculate Conception Church as the American-flag-draped casket containing the body of Army Sgt. Frank Michael Sandoval, 27, was carried to a hearse Thursday morning.
The parking lot of the church at 505 S. Avenue B was overflowing with cars filling all available space, even makeshift spots.
After the funeral service, mourners circled Frank Sandoval's burial plot at Desert Lawn, 1415 S. 1st Ave., spilling onto the lawn across the cemetery road.
