Mental health nurses play a critical role in the delivery of mental health services. Along with other health services, mental health nursing is experiencing a workforce shortage while demand for services continues to grow. In NSW, a strategy has been developed to attract more nurses to work in mental health.
The Mental Health Nursing Workforce Skills Acquisition Project (MHNWSAP) is a two-year joint initiative between the Nursing and Midwifery Office and the Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Office.
