London, June 29 (PTI) Sania Mirza has scoffed at the controversy around her partnering Israeli Shahar Peer at Wimbledon, saying it was purely a tennis matter and she was "not making any statement".
The 20-year-old Indian and her women's doubles partner have been bombarded with questions about their Muslim-Jew pairing here. And Sania, who has been at the receiving end of such hyperbolic reporting before, was unimpressed.
"We are playing doubles together, period. I have a good forehand, she has a good backhand. That's all we care about at this point," Sania said.
