Jul. 3--BOSTON -- The Rangers received the news Monday on Ian Kinsler that they feared: They can't fix what's broken.
An MRI exam revealed a stress fracture in Kinsler's left foot, and he is expected to miss at least three weeks. It could be up to six weeks. The only remedy for the fracture is time and rest. Kinsler has been placed in a walking orthopedic boot to keep him from putting weight on the foot. Kinsler was placed on the 15-day disabled list to make room for Brandon McCarthy, Monday's starting pitcher.
Kinsler is the third starting infielder on the disabled list. He joins first baseman Mark Teixeira (strained left ...
