Jul. 3--Back when Harry Potter was a new British import, the idea of keeping a bookstore open late to sell a book was laughable: "They were wondering if we would stay open until midnight -- you know, like with CDs, how they come out at midnight?" a Minneapolis children's bookstore employee said back in 1999, when the third book in J.K. Rowling's series was released. "Of course, we didn't. It was a school night!"
