Jul. 3--Among Tommy Gainey's perks for being the winner of the Golf Channel's "Big Break VII: Reunion" was a spot in this month's Cox Classic.
But the failures of previous Big Break winners given similar opportunities are on the mind of the self-taught golfer from South Carolina, the one known as "Two Gloves" because he wears golf gloves on both hands.
"The guys before me have made it pretty hard on getting sponsor exemptions to any Nationwide or PGA Tour tournaments," Gainey said Monday at Champions Run. "A few of the guys, they shot their 85s or whatever."
Gainey seems to be a much better candidate to succeed. ...
