The DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Little Rock is about to undergo a $9 million to $12 million renovation under a deal worked out with the Trinity Hotel Group of New York, said Dan O'Byrne, chief executive of the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The 14-story, 287-room hotel is owned by the city, O'Byrne said, but in 1994 it signed a 99-year agreement with Capital City Hotel Corp. of Chicago to manage the operation.
Under the agreement, Capital City had the right to sell its interest with the city's consent, O'Byrne said, which the city approved Thursday night.
