Jul. 3--EBENSBURG, Pa. -- It's hard to keep up with Christine Strugala on a walking tour of Ebensburg's downtown blocks.
It's not how fast the borough's community development director walks, but how fast she talks.
Strugala, who has family roots in the county seat, said she loves her job and the part she plays in the transformation of a town once left desolate when the coal mines closed.
And despite some naysaying as the main street was ripped up and made over with brick walkways, benches and trees, incoming business owners say the $1.3-million "Streetscape" project is paying off.
