Jul. 5--NORWALK -- More than 50 city residents packed inside the Mill Hill Townhouse yesterday to mark Independence Day with an act that would be echoed nationwide.
While the descendant of a Revolutionary War soldier rang the townhouse bell 13 times, once for each of the original 13 colonies, the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia and others across the country also sounded.
But yesterday's event had a particularly local flavor as well, with several speakers and performers recounting Norwalk's contribution to the nation's birth.
