ALLY HOGG last night committed himself to Edinburgh for two more yearsand insisted he was up for the challenge of replacing Chris Paterson as teamcaptain.

Scotland star Hogg, whose two-year contract extension will keep him in thecapital until 2010, will share the leadership duties with back-row colleagueSimon Cross in an arrangement designed to minimise disruption during World Cupyear.

Cross will skipper Edinburgh while Hogg is away with the national squad inFrance this autumn and again through the Six Nations Championship.
