HARRIET HARMAN was under fire on day one of her new job yesterday aftershe appeared to perform a U-turn on her views over the Iraq War.

Gordon Brown's new deputy leader flatly denied ever saying the Governmentshould apologise for the disastrous conflict.

But her claim has astonished Left-wing Labour MPs and activists who backed herfor the post because of her strong stance on Iraq during the closely-foughtdeputy leadership contest.
