Jul. 3--Just to get you in the mood, the July Fourth Freedom Swim will start at 8:30 a.m. from the public beach at the west side of the north end of southbound U.S. 41 bridge... got that?
The landing will be at Fishermen's Village. Swim with a buddy to assure a safe event.
Later on the Fourth, the Kiwanis Club of Punta Gorda is sponsoring the traditional July Fourth event in Gilchrist Park starting at 4 p.m. with food, refreshments, family fun, and music by The BoogyMen.
Fishermen's Village is also hosting a celebration from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Showtime for the fireworks is at 9 p.m. Enjoy and be safe!
