Jul. 5--OGDENSBURG -- The owner of the kosher cheese plant has plans to expand operations and offerings of kosher products made here.
St. Lawrence Food Corp. President Moise A. Banayan said Tuesday that the Main Street plant will soon produce new kosher cheese products. The new line will be marketed in California and a management team is coming in to develop the line.
"We're trying to get a different interest group," Mr. Banayan said.
The plant currently processes about 600,000 pounds of milk each week, with hopes of pushing capacity to one million pounds of milk each week, Mr. Banayan said.
