Budget issues surfaced again relative to the next U.S. farm bill. The combination of questions over the still-elusive "reserve" funds, subcommittee action and more slowed the farm bill and added to an already-uncertain situation. Here's where things stand: [??]

The much-awaited farm bill markup by the House Ag Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities and Risk Management resulted in a unanimous rejection of the conservation-oriented farm bill offered by Rep.
