Have you wondered why February is the shortest month in the year?
February usually has 28 days. The other months have either 30 or 31 days.
And every fourth year, February has 29 days. That is called ``Leap Year.''
This is the way the calendar is set up to keep us even with the solar (sun) year.
The calendar we now use is called the Gregorian calendar. It dates back to 1582.
It was named for Pope Gregory XIII.
