ALLERGIES are an epidemic of the 21st century and the world needs to heighten global awareness of these disorders. To this end, July 8 of each year has been declared World Allergy Day to help increase worldwide responsiveness to allergy-related problems and to disseminate information about how allergies can be prevented, and how their symptoms and effects can be mitigated.
