THE BETCHWORTH KID ended Daily Mail racing correspondent Colin Mackenzie's 40-year wait for a Flat winner when landing some good bets in the Henry Ponsonby silks in the 7f juvenile maiden.
Mackenzie, who fronts the nine-strong syndicate that owns the Michael Bell-trained winner, was known as the Betchworth Kid when working on the Daily Express.
