When I saw the picture of Craig Hall and Janie Taylor doing Afternoon of a Faun ("Reviews," May), I was elated. Finally an African American dancer does Robbins' Faun. It might have been done before, but as far as I know this is the first time at NYCB. However his name wasn't mentioned in the review. Wendy Perron wrote that Janie Taylor gave "an outsize sensuality that was mesmerizing," but who was she dancing with? What did he do? He's just the guy in the picture--typical. Some things never change.
