The peso exchange rate closed higher at P45.95 to the US dollar yesterday at the Philippine Dealing & Exchange Corp., (PDEx) from P46.000 the previous day. The weighted average rate appreciated to P45.942 from P46.034. Total volume amounted to $ 430.5 millio.

5-yr T-bond fetches 6.965%

The Bureau of Treasury reissued a benchmark treasury bond due March 3, 2011 to yield 6.965 percent at an auction yesterday, in line with market expectations for a yield between 6.85 percent and 7.00 percent.
