Jul. 9--KINGWOOD -- Presidents have transition teams, and Jim Lobb has the city's experienced department heads to help him ease into the leadership of Preston County's largest town.
"These guys can answer the questions when I can't," he said at the beginning of a recent interview, motioning to Police Chief Dale Davis, City Clerk Martha Haigh and acting City Supervisor Francis Hyre.
They all know one another, as Lobb isn't a total newcomer to Kingwood City Hall. He served on City Council and was city recorder for more than 10 years. Hyre has worked 30 years for the town, Haigh, 24 years, and Davis, 10.
