Jul. 11--The city and a taxi company are working together to provide 24-hour bus transportation to people with disabilities.
Aberdeen Shuttle and Taxi is leasing a bus for $1 annually from Ride Line, said Dave Osborn, Aberdeen transportation director. Ride Line recently bought the 1995 bus. He said the intention is to offer additional transportation services to those who need it. The taxi company sets the rates.
Originally, Aberdeen Shuttle and Taxi was going to be allowed to use the bus only when Ride Line wasn't operating, but Osborn said people shouldn't be forced to use Ride Line if they would rather use the taxi ...
