Jul. 13--If Frederic Remington and Charles Marion Russell are the capital R's in a trio of American West artists, it's tempting to categorize Frank Reaugh as the "little" r.
There are those who would argue the point.
"It's important to remember that Reaugh is a contemporary of Remington and Russell, the two biggies," said Michael Grauer, Associate Director for Curatorial Affairs/Curator of Art at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon. "He knew them; he just didn't have the publicity machine that they had."
