PHILADELPHIA, March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The Philadelphia Inquirer has been named among nine newspapers over 175,000 circulation as "Best Designed Newspapers in the World" by the Society of Newspaper Design in its 16th annual Best of Newspaper Design competition.

The contest, sponsored by the society and Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications, recognizes excellence in newspaper content and design.
