Jul. 13--The number of motorcycle fatalities is higher than in any year since 1985, prompting state public safety officials to remind drivers of all vehicles to pay closer attention to possible presence of motorcycles on roadways.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety reports that 24 riders have died so far this year compared to 21 fatalities by this time last year. Last year, the total number of motorcycle rider deaths was 70, an increase of nearly 200 percent from 10 years ago.
