THE decision not to reopen the John Smith's Cup when it was reduced to 1m1f has changed the complexion of the race, with a number of trainers - including those responsible for leading fancies Greek Well and Pevensey - running their charges despite concerns over the trip.

One trainer without those worries is Richard Fahey, who is responsible for a quarter of the field and who won this prize with Vintage Premium five years ago.
