Jul. 14--The 10,000 black balloons shuffling and shifting beneath the tarps beyond center field will have to last another day. The 10,000 pigeons cooing softly in their cages beneath the stands, waiting to delight and decorate the crowd, will have to be fed again.
Back at the Four Seasons Hotel, the postgame band for the celebration, 10,000 Maniacs, has extended its stay and ordered another round of shrimp cocktail and Fanta Orange.
