FORT MILL, S.C. - World trade will continue to hold top priority in issues being addressed by the American Textile Manufacturers Institute (ATMI) when the leadership changes hands during the group's annual meeting later this month.

Walter Y. Elisha, chairman and CEO of Springs Industries, who will succeed William J. Armfield 4th, vice-chairman of Unifi, as ATMI president, told DNR, "I will encourage people to see their markets as larger than just this country."

Elisha noted that there has been a continuous emphasis on world trade from ATMI leaders despite the differences in size and market orientation of the various companies that they represent.
