Jul. 15--J.K. Rowling says she thinks of the Harry Potter books as one long story. So, in preparation for publication of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," I spent most of June re-reading the six previous books without stopping.
When I read the series this way, without having to wait years between books, I had more appreciation for Rowling's ability to work magic with her writing (although I still think "Order of the Phoenix" is too long).
Whatever happens in the new book, there's no doubt that Harry Potter has grabbed the imagination of readers of all ages.
