The Military Child Education Coalition[TM] (MCEC[TM]) has created a series of programs to encourage and support parents serving as their child's first teacher and best advocate. One such program is the initiative Growing, Learning, and Understanding (GLU[TM]): Making Meaning through Early Literacy[TM]. This initiative was designed to develop early literacy skills in children from birth through second grade.
