The New York Times Magazine recently published an article called "The Counter Counterculture," by James Atlas, profiling a gang of young conservative intellectuals that included Richard Brookhiser, David Brock, Adam Bellow, Lisa Schiffren, P.J. O'Rourke and William Kristol. The magazine laid on a lavish spread of photographs of the jeunesse doree of the right (some of them not so jeune anymore) in brooding poses amid chic surroundings, a la Calvin Klein ads.
