A statewide network provides an effective support system between university PETE faculty and state physical education teachers.
Student teaching is one of the most widely accepted components of teacher education programs. Teachers (Clark et al., 1985; Griffin, 1989) as well as state (Murry, 1986) and national groups (Carnegie Forum's Task Force, 1986) consistently identify student teaching experiences as essential for preservice students to learn the professional role of a teacher.
